Dating at any age can be a challenge, but when you’ve moved on from the self-discovery phase in your early 20s, it might be time to examine some of your old dating habits to see if you’re standing in your own way when it comes to finding love.
Here are two dating habits you might want to let go if you’re out and about hoping to meet your soulmate:
1. Putting up with people you’re not really into
Maybe in your younger years, you could justify a few dates with someone who was more “meh” than “oh, yeah!” But in your 30s, it’s time to get serious about cutting dead weight that’s just not working for you. By all means, go on first dates and test the waters, but if it’s not right, cut ties early and move on.
2. The “three-day” rule and other immature practices
Here’s the deal: if you’re into someone, you call them. Make a date and show up on time and give them your full attention. Worrying about coming across as too eager not only causes anxiety, it makes you overthink every little move. When you want to call someone, call them. If they’re not feeling it, they’ll let you know and you’re better off in the long run.
