Having a purpose or goal adds meaning to your life. When we have something we’re working toward, even it if never makes us rich or gets us the corner office, you’re giving yourself something to flex all of your cognitive and emotional muscles. It keeps you health and happy.


3. Creativity and stimulation

We’re a trick lot, we humans and even the stodgiest of routine lovers need to break it up once in a while. Boredom and a lack of achievement can leave you feeling unsatisfied and depressed. Spending time reading about a subject that interests you, learning a new skill or craft, or doing anything that stimulates the creative part of your brain will see you feeling happier and more stimulated.
